I prefer Madonna, but admire Kylie so much following her cancer stuff etc...

[Me] says:
Meh. She got sick, how is that an achievement? Madonna got crucified and you don't hear her complaining.

It just floors me that young people "idolise" people like Kylie and Madonna for their "achievements". Sure, they have donated money and raised awareness for various charitable causes, but I think the "achievements" being referred to, and usually are, are "fame and fortune". Against what odds? Now Quentin Crisp and a host of other people who have worked for change, are far more worthy of admiration, and for making a difference, and don't treat it like they are doing everyone a favour because they have been so blessed, and still need a pat on the back. That is all.

kylie deserves recognition because she is everything everyone wants to be.
